About Hannah Edgar

When not playing violin in Lakeview Orchestra, Hannah is a freelance writer and radio producer who writes for the Chicago Tribune as its freelance classical and jazz critic. They contribute regularly to WBEZ/Chicago Sun-Times, The New York Times, VAN Magazine, and Musical America, among other publications, and have produced in-house writing for a number of organizations, including the Cincinnati Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, the Pentatone record label, and the Chicago-based experimental music presenter Lampo. Hannah is a graduate of the University of Chicago (bachelor’s in musicology) and the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign (master’s of library science, with a focus in archives and exhibition design). In addition to writing Lakeview's programs, they sit on the orchestra's social media committee.
